I would not characterize them as center right, but they are not the leftists that Obama has named to other positions. So he plans to pursue a centrist economic agenda and a left wing social agenda.
One rabidly conservative poster actually praised obama on the NJREReport.com blog, saying that Obama has abandoned his leftist rhetoric and embraced W's foreign policy. Bit confused am I. I was not following that one. Methinks he was being sarcastic, sort of.

i would settle for a social progressive program and take the centrist economics (which would feel progressive compared to the last 8 years)...
and pay no attention to the rabid right-wing squirrels behind the curtain...
