I do not see good things until we get Tek back behind the plate. Nooo, not good things at all. Must find new Red Sox good luck charm, must find new charm, must find new charm.
As for Bruschi, at least a wrist is not a brain. He will most certainly be there on opening day, even if taped up like a mummy.
As for Lieb, we'll see. I thought him dead and buried, but based on the new polling and the tailwind the media is giving him, I may need to concede. The early polls favor him, he is keeping some senate endorsements, and the salvo he launched at the Dems scored some hits. This story ain't over yet.
The GOP won't gain that seat unless both Lamont and Lieb die. Even then one would be elected but the GOP gov would then fill the seat. So, no need to fret that, G.
Now, how 'bout this as a potential scenario? Lieb beats Lamont, throwing the blogosphere into a snit. Then (oh, this is delicious) the Dems come back, all contrite like, and invite Lieb back into the party so that they keep the seat. If they don't, Lieb may still rejoin, but will likely exact some concessions. Either way, the bloggers and left will be screaming bloody murder at this apparent doublecross. Personally, if Lieb wins (and I still see this as a longshot), I don't see the party inviting him back, or him rejoining it without some tribute. Too much ego at stake here.
