Newsflash... ! The sport of criticizing the U.S. has reached its border -- Oh, the humanity! -- and so naturally the translucense of Dubya's thin skin is sparkling as if for the holiday season:
In a hard-hitting speech in Ottawa, U.S. Ambassador David Wilkins lamented what he called relentless and incessant criticism of his country, which he speculated might begin to sow doubt about the strength of the binational relationship.(Yaawwwn!) Like, whatever, corporate ambassador dude!
But here's what gave me my pre-coffee giggle:
"I would respectfully submit to you that when it comes to a 'global conscience' the United States is walking the walk," Wilkins said. And now, ladies & gentlemen, Mr. John Cleese will demonstrate "the walk."

From up here in Mountieland and the land of Eskimoos and Igloos....is the US ambassodor dude really saying that we make fun of the US too much? Is this Elementary school -- or maybe even Junior High?
Up here in the Great White North, it would seem that the "pissing and moaning" is well deserved. Do we pick on the US - Yes we do. Do we put them down every chance we get - yes we do. Does it work the other way as well - yes it does...
So this ambassador dude should buck up, stop complaining and solve the Softwood Lumber dispute. Or the Mad Cow disease - beef imports dispute. Or any of the other major issues that continually stand in the way of "good" relations between the Potics of our two nations.
