My sense is 2010 as being a hair early, although the scenario does have a more palpable certainty about it, thanks to a certain hair-brained boy president.

I saw that and commented extensively on it. While the basic analysis is sound, his conclusions are way off and show that, as a Russian, he really doesn't truly understand America.
First, there's no way in hell that foreign powers take over any portions of the US.
Second, the state division is off as it doesn't truly take into account political and economic and social factors, or history, which could prove important.
Third, it divides along state lines, which may be unrealistic. In a true national meltdown, states may fracture, such as the pacific northwest. Eastern WA and OR would join Idaho and the mountain states, and cast off the liberal coast. Texas may fracture, but more likely, there will be a liberal exodus. LA and CA would likely fracture, and perhaps NoVA would join the North.
Finally, it is pure fantasy. Except for Alaska, which has already partially seceded, there are far too many factors working in favor of union rather than against it. For the Union to dissolve in form would mean that it would have effectively dissolved in meaning prior to actual dissolution.

I agree with Anonymous, nice analysis. I do lend credence to this man he is former KGB, plus he may know a thing or too about why the sky is bright in the countryside at night, and how it gets brighter and dimmer making the air easier and then more difficult to breathe. Like it or not that statement is factually correct, and since 99.9% of all America is clueless so far, I think this man may know a little more about why a civil war might happen, after all Russians surely did invent the oxygen controlling device (whatever it is). Personally, I used to love my government and country, now it's just country. No just government could put a tesla dome over it's own land and create so much misery. I think that once everyone else catches on to the fact that GWB tried to kill us with global warming (plasma from a tesla dome), and now Obama plans to do the same, Americans will finally and (rightly so) come to realize its us or it is them.
The first person commented something about the little boy president or something...I can only assume he is speaking about the "I have no experience" Obama, who is further destroying our country with his cap and tax and fake global warming..oh wait..climate change..idiocy. There is an undertone in the country today that is demanding REAL change, not fundamental change into social marxism that we have now.

All we have been through in Misery! We've been fighting in Iraq, now North Korea!? What the hell is wrong with this country? All we've been in was Wars. Conflicts, and more. Obama fakign stuff, taxs really!? This is all janked. WE can't get into anotehr Civil War, and sacrifice to hate our ones from TX(such as my gf sara) I'd hate that. I mean literatly, another Civil War? Divided against 5 other teams? WHy don't peopel realize we are made equally? And not differently, God made us all. He made the world, he makes US. Not racist people, who want war. Man, I hope you guys no what I'm saying. Because I'm saying like this world doesn;t deserve this, because were made equally. This world is just such Psych. I am raelly ticked at hearing this, I am only 12 and I can make good points. God made us with Liberty, Right to own property, and pursuit of happiness. Not the happiness that satisfies Governments. This world was made for everyone, for a living, not for a war. 2 Civil wars is bad, I mean like REALLY bad. No one deserves to be scared just because of this, no one does. I wait and pray everyday for this war to come. I am moving to TX just to prepare for it ( I hate TX but it seems like the only free place left).
The Free America of old is dead. We have become a Socialist entitlement country. Whether you agree or disagree, I really don't care.
